At CAREKONECT, we are constantly exploring ways to integrate innovative technologies into our platform to improve efficiency, enhance patient care, and support healthcare providers. One area we've been particularly excited about is the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into our solution suite.
In our recent product development meeting with the technical team, we reviewed the initial plan to include AI-powered features, such as conversational chatbots and AI-assisted patient triage tools. These features hold great potential to streamline clinical workflows, reduce wait times, and deliver more personalized care.
However, through our ongoing discussions with prospective clinic partners, several important concerns around data privacy and regulatory compliance were raised. Real-time AI-patient interactions—especially in a clinical setting—must adhere to strict guidelines to ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical care delivery.
After careful evaluation, our team has decided to postpone the implementation of real-time AI interactions in the current development cycle. While the idea remains compelling, we are committed to building solutions that meet both our technological ambitions and the regulatory realities of modern healthcare.
That said, we view this as a strategic delay, not a retreat. We will continue to monitor the evolving legal and ethical landscape surrounding AI in healthcare, and revisit this functionality when the timing and conditions are right.
In the meantime, our technical team will focus on strengthening the platform's core capabilities, ensuring that all features are robust, secure, and fully compliant with Canadian healthcare standards.
We look forward to sharing more updates as our platform evolves—and to continuing our mission of transforming healthcare through thoughtful, responsible innovation.
